SARAH Career Center
♦"In the Kitchen" An interactive, instructional course on food safety, preparation, cooking & nutrition to prepare individuals for work in the food service industry. Essential tasks for everyday use in the kitchen are also covered and can be beneficial to everyone and anyone.
♦"Food Safety Smart Curricula" The curriculum content is based on the USDA Fight BAC!R Campaign, which is a food safety initiative designed to educate consumers about the four food safety principles-clean, separate, cook, and chill. The campaign's goal is to provide consumers with information and resources to help them reduce the risk of food borne illness.
♦"Supermarket Success" An instructional course designed to prepare individuals for the social and vocational challenges they will face when employed at grocery stores and supermarkets in the commu-nity. The course includes assessments, computer trainings and training in the field working with one of SARAH, Inc.'s business partners.
♦ "Cleaning With Meaning" An in depth training to understand and carry out the practices and tech-niques essential for a successful career in cleaning and custodial work. This training includes assessments and "hands on" experience.
♦ "Assess For Success" Dexterity, coordination, accurate measurements — these are the critical tasks needed to be successful at three of our long-standing community employers: Honeywell Fire Systems, Cintas Uniforms and Tower Laboratories. Individuals will learn the job skills and perform the "hands-on" tasks required to prepare them for employment at these and similar businesses and for a career in manufacturing.
♦ "Role Playing and Resumes" When employment comes a "knocking", it's vital that supported work-ers be prepared for their interview and have a well constructed, accurate resume. SARAH Employment Services staff will help each person highlight all applicable areas of their work history for potential employers. In addition to creating a resume, participants will engage in role playing scenarios that will recreate interviews or challenging situations that they may face at a new job. Each phase of this training comes with an in depth assessment so each person can develop their skills and track their successes!
